About
Alyssa London is the visionary CEO of Culture Story, a media company dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices through storytelling across media, tourism, and education. Committed to preserving and promoting Native culture, Alyssa has made waves as the first Native/Indigenous Contributor for both MSNBC and NBC News. She is a trailblazer in media, having hosted The Culture Is: Indigenous Women special on MSNBC, which explored the roles, experiences, and influences of Indigenous women in today's world.
As a member of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, Alyssa draws from her heritage to shape her storytelling. She served as a Cultural Ambassador for Sealaska Heritage Institute during her reign as Miss Alaska USA, representing her community with pride. Alyssa is also the author of Journey of the Freckled Indian: A Tlingit Culture Story, a children’s book that explores mixed-race identity and fosters cultural pride and understanding. She is currently working on additional literary projects with HarperCollins and Bloomsbury Publishing, further expanding her influence in Indigenous literature.
Alyssa graduated with honors from Stanford University, furthering her foundation for a career in storytelling and advocacy. She is a Native American 40 Under 40 honoree, and award bestowed by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) that recognizes young leaders across Indian Country who have made significant contributions to their community.
As a former host on Native America Calling, the only national daily live radio broadcast focused on Indian Country, Alyssa demonstrates her dedication to elevating Indigenous issues. Her contributions to Allure magazine include a celebrated cover story on Indigenous model and activist Quannah Chasinghorse.
In addition to her media endeavors, Alyssa is a sought-after executive coach, helping leaders refine their messaging, media presence, and communication strategies with authenticity. Through Culture Story, Alyssa is working on partnerships throughout Alaska to share cultural stories with visitors and tourists, expanding the reach of Indigenous storytelling in the region.
Alyssa serves as an elected board member of the Indigenous Journalists Association and is also a member of the Travel Alaska Cultural Tourism Committee. She is a proud shareholder in the regional and urban-village Alaska Native corporations, Sealaska and Shee Atika Corporations, respectively.
Alyssa first gained national attention when she became the first Alaska Native woman to be selected as a top 10 finalist at Miss USA. She continues to inspire as a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur, always driven by her dedication to amplifying Indigenous culture and empowering others through her diverse work.
