A'ja Wilson is a professional basketball player with the Las Vegas Aces. With four WNBA MVP Awards, three WNBA Championships, and two WNBA Finals MVP Awards, she is one of the most dynamic and impactful women in sports. Wilson’s fourth MVP in 2025 made her the first player in WNBA history to win that award four times, and her leadership has helped the Aces become one of the most dominant teams in the league’s modern era.

Off the court, Wilson is an entrepreneur and author. Her first book, an instant New York Times bestseller, Dear Black Girls: How To Be True To You is a tribute to resilience and empowerment. Wilson shares personal experiences and insights on overcoming challenges, discrimination, and injustice. The book serves as a poignant reminder to uplift and support Black women and girls in today's America and beyond. Wilson also started Burnt Wax, a candle business, which was inspired by how aromatherapy brought a sense of tranquility and calm during some of the most challenging times in her family's life and provided the energy boost that they needed to deal with everyday life.

In her collegiate career, Wilson attended her hometown school, the University of South Carolina, and led the program to its first NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, in 2017. There, she was also the recipient of many individual accolades, such as the NCAA basketball tournament Most Outstanding Player award, three straight SEC Player of the Year awards, and first-team All-American for three consecutive seasons. During her senior season, Wilson swept all National Player of the Year awards (Wade, AP, Honda, USBWA, Wooden, and Naismith) as the best Women's College basketball player for 2018 and became the all-time leading scorer in South Carolina women's basketball history. Upon graduation, the school erected a monument in her honor.

In addition to her previous accolades, Wilson boasts an impressive list of achievements including 2x USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year (2022, 2015), Olympic Gold Medalist, 3x FIBA World Cup winner (2022, 2015, 2013), 2x WNBA Defensive Player of the Year (2022, 2023), 2014 Gatorade High School South Carolina Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and 2014 McDonald’s High School All-American. Wilson's talents extend beyond basketball, excelling in track and field, volleyball, and soccer, even breaking her high school's 100-meter record and receiving all-state volleyball honors.

Wilson is also a big advocate for giving back, mentoring kids, and social justice. She sits on the board of several schools focused on educating dyslexic kids. She also founded the A'ja Wilson Foundation with her parents, Rosco and Eva Wilson. The AWF serves as a resource for children and families who struggle with Dyslexia along with working to shift the culture of students to prevent bullying.

All these accolades landed Wilson on the Forbes 2021 30 Under 30 list. A'ja loves spending time with her two dogs, Ace and Duece, and staying active regarding her health and fitness.
