Karlie Kloss
Supermodel, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist
About
Having scaled the heights of the modeling world to become one of the most visible supermodels of the 21st century, Karlie Kloss has spent the last few years turning her sights on how best to use her massive platform.
For Kloss, nurturing her passions came down to embracing the values she holds dear and integrating them into her naturally entrepreneurial vision. From a young age, she recognized the importance of education in setting young minds up for success—particularly in the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.) Her natural curiosity about the world around her became a crucial part of the foundation for her own wildly successful career and has inspired her dedication to empowering others.
Her interest in technology led her to take her first coding class in 2014. Inspired by code’s creativity and endless possibility, Kloss launched Kode With Klossy in 2015, a nonprofit focused on creating learning experiences and opportunities for young women and underrepresented genders that increase their confidence and inspire them to pursue their passions in a technology driven world. Since launching as a two week class at the Flatiron School, Kode With Klossy has reached over 12,000 scholars nationally through its flagship summer camps. Understanding that female, transgender, and nonbinary individuals need to have a seat at the table in shaping the technologies that are shaping our world, Kloss is committed to fostering this diverse group of future leaders and closing the gender gap.
By extension of her efforts to improve the world around her for future generations, Kloss is holding the fashion industry accountable for its contribution to waste and pollution. In November 2020, Kloss launched her own sustainable line using high performance recycled materials in partnership with Adidas, setting an industry standard and encouraging others to emulate.
Kloss takes her remarkable story of action and advocacy to audiences around the world, inspiring listeners from adolescence to adulthood to take stock of their passions and direct their energy toward making a difference with the tools at their disposal.Karlie Kloss is an American supermodel, 43-time Vogue cover girl, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
