Kyle MacLachlan is best known for his performance as FBI Agent Dale Cooper in David Lynch’s groundbreaking series Twin Peaks, for which he received two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award in 1990, and for reprising the role 27 years later in Twin Peaks: The Return, which earned him a 2018 Golden Globe nomination.

MacLachlan can currently be seen in the second season of Amazon’s blockbuster series FALLOUT. He most recently appeared in FX’s The Lowdown opposite Ethan Hawke and can also be seen in Amazon’s hit series Overcompensating and in Apple’s acclaimed film Echo Valley, starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. Along with his acting endeavors MacLachlan also has his own wine company, Pursued by Bear and he has his own podcast What Are We Even Doing, which launched in 2025. As well as his new memoir, Fictional Selves coming out in late 2026 which will, highlights his career and his journey through Hollywood.

MacLachlan made his feature film debut in 1984 in the futuristic drama Dune, directed by David Lynch, followed by his second collaboration with Lynch in the 1986 classic Blue Velvet His extensive television work includes memorable roles on HBO’s Sex and the City, as well as Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, and Portlandia.
