An Invisible Thread brings to life the inspiring true story of an 11-year-old panhandler, a busy sales executive, and their unlikely meeting with destiny in 1986.

In 2014, Laura spoke at Leadercast alongside Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former First Lady Laura Bush, and bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell. Schools continue to adopt An Invisible Thread as a required read and Simon & Schuster Education Team has developed An Invisible Thread ELA Common Core Standards Curriculum Guide, as well as a Curriculum Guide for An Invisible Thread Young Readers’ Edition.

Angels on Earth, released in October 2016, explores the turning-point moments in all of our lives; the times when a simple gesture or act of kindness can change everything, and ripple outward into the world creating more goodness and hope.

An Invisible Thread Young Readers’ Edition, released May 7, 2019, is based on their true story and unlikely friendship and targets children ages 8-12. It’s the story of the bond between a young eleven-year-old boy and a busy sales executive; a heartwarming journey of hope, kindness, adventure, and love – and the power of fate to help us find our way.

In March 2022, An Invisible Thread celebrated 10 years with a 10th Anniversary Edition, including a new Forward by Laura Schroff and an Afterword by Maurice Mazyck.

Over Laura’s thirty-year career in advertising sales, she has worked with several major media companies, including Time Inc. and Condé Nast. Born and raised on Long Island in New York, Laura was part of the advertising team that helped launch and make USA Today a successful national newspaper. Before helping launch three of the most successful start-ups in Time Inc. history—In Style, Teen PEOPLE, and PEOPLE StyleWatch, Laura was also the New York Division Manager at PEOPLE Magazine.
