Carrie Coon became a household name with her Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated performance in season three of The White Lotus. But her career has been defined by prestigious works across film, television, and theatre for more than a decade. Following her breakout role in the critically acclaimed film Gone Girl, Coon starred in HBO’s The Leftovers, winning a Critics’ Choice Award, and FX’s Fargo, earning Emmy and Critics’ Choice nominations. She made history by winning the first ever double TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Drama for her brilliant work in these shows. Among Coon’s most notable film works are Azazel Jacobs’ His Three Daughters, opposite Natasha Lyonne and Elizabeth Olson and Steven Spielberg’s The Post, alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks.

Currently, Coon leads the ensemble cast of HBO’s The Gilded Age opposite Christine Baranski. The role earned Coon her second primetime Emmy nomination and fifth Critics Choice Award nomination. The series has also been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Prior to her on-screen debut, Coon made a name for herself on the Steppenwolf Theatre stage in Chicago. In her inaugural performance with the venerable Chicago-based acting ensemble, Coon starred as ‘Honey’ in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The production opened on Broadway shortly thereafter to universal acclaim and would go on to win a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. For her portrayal, Coon was recognized with both a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play and a Theatre World Award to honor her outstanding Broadway debut. She has since performed in productions of The March, Three Sisters, Mary Page Marlowe, and Placebo, as well as an award-winning performance as the titular character in Amy Herzog’s world premiere drama Mary Jane at New York Theatre Workshop.

Most recently, Coon returned to Broadway in the lead role of Tracy Letts’ BUG at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, for which she received her second Tony nomination in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play. Upcoming projects for Coon include the thrillers Harmonia and I Am Not Your Mother.
