Zarna Garg

Award-Winning Comedian | NYT Bestselling Author | Keynote Speaker on Reinvention

About

Zarna Garg is an award-winning stand-up comedian, proud Indian immigrant, and New York Times bestselling author. One of the first mainstream South Asian female comics, she is celebrated for comedy that at once speaks to the Indian American experience yet resonates universally across cultures.

As a keynote speaker, Zarna Garg balances side-splitting humor with deeply insightful messages of self-determination, risk-taking, and reinvention. She speaks about growing up with dreams bigger than her culture would allow, her escape to America to avoid marriage, and her unlikely journey to comedy at 44 years old. Zarna’s story offers lessons in the business of comedy, brand building, and facing change with excitement instead of fear. Audiences leave inspired by Zarna’s resilience and empowered to take a chance on the frightening idea that could turn their lives around. Leading with the message that it’s never too late to start anew, Zarna Garg is an excellent fit for corporate audiences, women’s groups, and entrepreneurship-focused events.

More About Zarna Garg
Zarna Garg did her first open mic at 44-years-old with absolutely no prep other than a lifetime of making people laugh. After stints as a lawyer, stay-at-home mom, and many failed entrepreneurial pursuits, she was pushed toward comedy by her children and her career has seen meteoric success ever since.

With her critically acclaimed comedy specials One in a Billion and Practical People Win, and a sold out Million Dollar Excuses tour, Zarna has established herself as a comedy force to be reckoned with. Her inspiring memoir This American Woman, about her treacherous climb from homeless Mumbai teen to internationally beloved stand-up comedian, is a New York Times bestseller with over 10,000 4- and 5-star reviews on Goodreads and Amazon, where it was named one of their Best of 2025 books. Her hugely popular Zarna Garg Family Podcast explores modern family life with her husband and kids.

Zarna frequently opens for icons Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and is currently building a new sitcom Zarna with Mindy Kaling and Kevin Hart. She made her acting debut in indie superhit A Nice Indian Boy, a New York Times Critic’s Pick where Zarna was deemed “a standout.”

At the start of her career, Zarna won Kevin Hart’s Lyft Comics comedy competition, the Ladies of Laughter Newcomer award, and was named one of Vareity’s “10 Comics to Watch.” In 2025, she received the inaugural Instagram Ring Award for the world's top 25 creators (the Oscars of the Internet).

With millions of social media followers and billions of views, Zarna just can’t stop laughing her way to the top.
